Chapter 02 features the data providers and data sources used to populate the circular economy core indicators dataset compiled as part of this report. The importance of existing international methodologies in helping countries to calculate data related to circular economy indicators is highlighted, together with several options for data collection.
Chapter 3: Data Availability
Chapter 03 focuses on data availability of the circular economy core indicators at country, regional and global level and presented by data source. The representation of circular economy core indicators by variables is discussed, as well as the data availability of variables at country, regional and global level and by data source. A special focus is dedicated to circular economy core indicators with low data availability.
Chapter 4: Data Gaps
Chapter 04 highlights the data gaps in terms of unavailable circular economy core indicators by theme. Reasons for the unavailability of these indicators and potential solutions to enhance the level of data collection at country level are suggested.
Chapter 5: Policy-making and the Use of Circular Economy Indicators
Chapter 05 examines the role of policy-making and circular economy indicators in guiding countries toward a circular economy. It covers examples of national policies, discusses how core indicators can drive targeted policies, and concludes with examples of using these indicators to measure policy implementation.
Chapter 6: Conclusions
Chapter 06 summarizes the concluding messages of this report, underlining the importance of international harmonized methodologies and indicators sets for measuring circular economy.
