
Textile waste is a rapidly growing and resource-intensive waste stream with significant impacts on climate, water use, and material efficiency. This section highlights globally aligned knowledge products under UNEP’s circularity mandate to support sustainable textile value chains, including waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. For İstanbul and Türkiye, expanding consumption and production systems position textile waste as a key opportunity to advance circular economy practices, reduce environmental pressures, and promote sustainable, low-impact industry transitions.
