Overview
Embedded in the wider workshop “Validation Workshop on Marine Spatial Planning Technical Guidelines and Innovative Tools for the Northern Mozambique Channel” the Northern Mozambique Channel Digital Twin prototype (NMCDTp) co-designing workshop, served as a pivotal initiative within the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region’s ongoing efforts to promote a sustainable blue economy and integrated ocean governance.
The aim was to collaboratively explore the concept and framework of a Digital Twin for the Northern Mozambique Channel—a region of extraordinary ecological significance and critical socioeconomic reliance.
The workshop emphasized harmonizing national MSP processes while integrating cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance the understanding, management, and conservation of marine and coastal environments.
This collective effort reflects a transformative approach to addressing regional challenges and unlocking the full potential of blue resources for sustainable development.
