Overview
A National workshop on data availability for measuring climate change with a gender dimension for better adaptation and mitigation policies was held in Dodoma, Tanzania. The two days workshop held from 1 to 2 September 2026 was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The event is part of the Project “Measuring Climate Change with a gender dimension for better adaptation and mitigation policies” under the 17th tranche of the United Nations Development Account (DA17 project).
The goal of the national workshop was to present preliminary results of a national effort to identify and analyse existing national data sources that can be used to develop a pilot list of core gender-sensitive climate change indicators in Tanzania, and to support a national dialogue among various stakeholders on the availability and gaps in gender-sensitive climate change data.
