Overview

Senegal has embarked on a process of drawing up environmental satellite accounts that is in line with the sustainable development policy that has been in place for several years.

As part of this exercise, Senegal is receiving technical assistance from the Economic Commission for Africa and the United Nations Environment Agency.

Thus, following the capacity-building workshop organized from 11 to 13 April 2018 at the Terrou-Bi Hotel, a workshop to monitor and supervise the process was planned from 5 to 6 December 2018 with the support of the UN Environment.

Organization.

At the end of this workshop, the members of the technical committee were informed of the progress of the work, the first results will be shared and recommendations will be made with a view to reframing the process.

The objective of the workshop was to take stock of the progress of the work on the preparation of environmental accounts, in particular those relating to water resources.

Specifically, it will be: become familiar with the development of physical accounts (land management, water resources).
